LOVELY RESTORED 19^TH.CENTURY CATALAN FARMHOUSE ON THE BANKS OF A RIVER IN THE MIDDLE OF NATURE NEAR CERET.

Mas Pujol del Mitg offers charming rustic accommodations with all modern conveniences in three self contained “gites”all with their own private entrance and outdoor spaces. Over the last number of years the Mas has been carefully restored to retain the original features (where possible) of exposed stone walls and wooden ceilings. The Mas is situated on the banks of the Terme river for fishing and bathing and in the middle of nature surrounded by a forest of oak and chestnut nestling in the foothills of the Pyrenees.The immediate area is called the Vallespir Valley which is known as the “green lungs”of the Pyrenees Oriental offering spectacular mountain scenery, small pretty towns all steeped in Catalan culture and food.

Mas Pujol is the ideal for people who are interested in hill walking or mountain biking as the immediate area offers multiple choices at every skill level in some of the best scenery in the this area of France. For people who would like a “stress free” experience the Mas offers peace, tranquillity and a chance to relax in the middle of nature as well as the hot thermal spa at nearby Amelie les Bains.

For golfers there are three 18 hole coursees within easy reach and horse riding/trekking is also available nearby along with a host of other outdoor activities. Though tucked away from a busy noisy world assess is easy to the Med beaches of nearby beautiful Collioure, Argeles sur Mer and St.Cyprien.

Around Mas Pujol

Perpignan is the department capital and was the seat of the Kings of Majorca and boasts many fine public buildings which are well worth a visit………..the Royal Palace,the Castillet also the railway station the roof of which was painted by Dali is a must.

Ceret nearby, the provincial capital, is a delightful old world town with a modern art museum which features works by Picasso (who lived there for some years) and each Saturday morning there is one of the best markets in the department.

Spain is also very close by and in a day you can easily visit Figueres with the eccentric Dali Museum and then on to Cadaques/Portlligat to visit Dali’s home which is now also a museum and then stroll the small streets of one the best preserved villages on the Costa Brava.

Just further down the coast at Sant Mardi (just beside L’Escala) you can visit the excavated Greek/Roman port town of Empuries with a very fine museum displaying the artefacts and history of the town. When you are exhausted by all that culture you relax on a fine golden sand beach just beside the excavations or lunch in the pleasant village of Sant Marti.

Barcelona is about two hours away on the motorway and is one of the most interesting and exciting cities in Europe with a huge range of sights to visit ……..the Picasso Museum and Gaudi’s Sacreda Famila Cathedral the Aquarium and of course the Rambla together with great shopping.

LES TILLEULS - 8 persons.

This the central and largest part of the Mas comprising:-

4 bedrooms ( 2 double bedded & 2 twin bedded)
3 bathrooms (with shower only & washbasins).2 separate WCs
Fully equipped living room/kitchen with open fireplace full sized cooker; dishwasher; fridge/freezer; washing machine and an ample supply of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware
Outside is a tree shaded garden with a BBQ and garden furniture

LA PASSERELLE - 4 to 6 persons

This is the lower wing of the Mas which originally was used as a guest lodge during the hunting season.

3 bedrooms (1 double bedded;1 small with single bunk beds;1 with double and single beds)
1 shower room with wash basin toilet ,WC and washing machine.
Fully equipped living room/kitchen with fireplace full sized cooker; dishwasher; fridge/freezer and an ample supply of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware
Outside is a walled private garden with a BBQ and garden furniture overlooking the river

LE BERGERIE - 4 persons

This is a separate building from the main Mas but situated on the site.

2 bedrooms (1 double bedded:1 twin bunk bedded)
1 shower room with wash basin, toilet ,WC and washing machine
Fully equipped living room/kitchen with full sized cooker; dishwasher; fridge/freezer and an ample supply of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware
Outside is a private garden with a BBQ and garden furniture
