Property Description

The house is located in the heart of the old village it is stone built on 2 floors: the ground floor has a double bedroom with two single beds opening onto a sunny terrace which leads onto a long enchanted garden were you can see and hear all the wild life.

On the first floor there is a living room with an open plan kitchen, in the living area there is also a sofa which can convert into a double bed, it has French windows with small balcony looking onto Canigou and the Alberes. The bathroom is fully equipped with a jet power shower and sink. Opposite there is a separate toilet. To the rear there there is another spacious double bedroom again with French windows opening onto another small balcony.

All amenities such as new development of shops (including mini market, restaurant, cafe bar, newsagent & excellent take away pizza shop are all within 5 mins walk there is also a small weekly market. There is a larger supermarket within 5 mins drive. There are some fantastic walks just on the doorstep including gentle strolls around Villelongue, the ancient priory of Santa Maria Del Vilar situated in the foothills of Villelongue is worth a visit with a fascinating tour, or there are some strenuous hikes in the Pyrenees above the village. There are many fascinating & historic old towns & villages in the area including Ceret, Perpignan & Collioure all of which offer historic buildings, traditional narrow streets, quiet squares, weekly markets etc.

Villelongue dels Monts is set in a picturesque village at the foothills of the Pyrenees. You can be sitting on the beach at Argeles Sur Mer in 15 minutes, and if you continue a little further you will arrive at St Cyprien, then Canet en Rouisillion were there is plenty of beach activities available and aqua parks.

You are a 10 minute drive away from the Spanish boarder taking you onto the Costa Brava. Figueres is a 30 minute drive, Roses 45 were there is Aqua Brava and Barcelona 1hr 30mins.

If you drive 45 minutes up into the mountains you will arrive at the start of the ski resorts were you can enjoy bathing in the natural springs of St Thomas les Bains. You also have the local villages such as Ameilie les Bains, Arles sur Tech, Le Boulou and Maureillas which are all within a 5 minute drive from one to another.
